A few days ago I read Amy Tan's "the Kitchen God's Wife". It was surprisingly good. Well, surprising to me, at least. I had picked up Tan's first acclaimed book, "Joy Luck Club" a while ago, but was not impressed when I started reading, and stopped shortly after. I never finished the book. I picked "the Kitchen God's Wife" randomly during a visit to the local library. This time, when I started reading, I was transfixed. I could not put it down until I finished reading it. What great story-telling skills she has! It is a book I can really learn much from.
